9/30/06 – I would personally like to thank everyone who supports us by promoting our site.  Without you, we’d be no where.  This past month was by far our BEST month yet as far as site traffic.  Thank you!

Things have been very productive this month.  Each week, we’re getting closer and closer to the completion of Apollo.  The completion date is unknown right now, but we’re incredibly optimistic.

First off— We secretly launched the Apollo site a couple weeks ago. Go to http://www.mooseheadfilms.com/apollo and check it out.
There isn’t much content on the site now, but keep checking back for updates.

Out of inspiration from the new site, we created a new teaser poster for the film.  This, along with the two other posters will be available for purchase from our store within the next few weeks.

We dove deep into effects work this month.  The shot shown below was one of the most difficult to construct due to the complicated camera movement and the depth layers we had to construct.  There was a background matte (the cityscape), a rain element, lightning, the wall and then the green screen layer.  This shot took two weeks to piece together.

Here’s a clip of the composite.  It’s technically a beta version, meaning there are still a few glitches to fix before we render it for the final footage.

What else?  We’ve also been working on a lot of 3d work lately.  The first set of material is for Apollo.  The screen shots below are not going to be in the film, they’re just screen tests to get the look down that we want.

Both of these shots were created in Cinema4D.  A clip of the bottom image can be seen Here.
Overall, we’re happy with the results.  Once we get textures applied to a few items, we’ll be ready to produce this shot.

This second item has NOTHING to do with Apollo. It was created just for fun, and actually served as a break from working on Apollo.  It’s an Ipod “commercial” we made, it’s about 20 seconds long.  The 3d stuff was rendered in Cinema4D and only took about two hours to make.

(It can be viewed Here.)

This third clip isn’t actually “3d” per se, it’s more 2.5d.  We wanted to emulate a motion graphic style commonly seen on TV show introductions and bumpers.
